On April 7, the New Mexico State Veterans Home will open their grounds for an Easter event. Starting at 1:30 p.m., on the front lawns, there will be games and races for children 1-11 years of age. There will be prizes, and the event is free to the public.
Make your plans and bring a lawn chair.
The events are as follows: one- and two-year-olds will have a regular Easter egg hunt on the front short area.
Three- and four-year-olds will find specific eggs. They will be given more instructions as the race begins.
Five- and six-year-olds will roll an egg with their noses only.
Seven- and eight-year-olds will have a traditional egg roll.
Nine- and 10-year-olds will have a spoon race.
And 11- and 12-year-olds will match up egg parts.
We will have balloons, face painting and popcorn.
