Not even halfway through the season, and the Hot Springs Girls’ Golf team has already qualified for the state golf tournament.
The Lady Tigers recorded their third qualifying leg during the Doña Ana Classic held March 26-27, in Las Cruces.
The team posted 394 on the second day to earn a third leg.
Sara Whitehead, a junior, posted a two-day total of 181 to finish in third place individually.
At the Dos Lagos tournament held on March 19, the Lady Tigers won the tournament, and Karah Tooley finished in first place individually with a 90. Also placing were Whitehead (third), Nikki Marr, (fourth) and Brittney Harp (fifth).
The Tigers finished in second place at the Dos Lagos tourney.
Justin Dalrymple finished fourth individually.
The boys and girls teams participated in the Oñate invite in Las Cruces on Monday, April 2, and on Thursday, April 5, they will host the Elephant Butte tourney at Sierra del Rio Championship Golf Course.
