Fiesta Rodeo Set for May 4-5

The Sierra County Sheriff’s Posse presents the Fiesta Championship Rodeo, to be held Friday-Saturday, May 4-5, with performances beginning at 7 p.m., both dates. The Fiesta Rodeo will take place at the Sierra County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo Arena, located on the east side of Truth or Consequences.

The 2012 Fiesta Rodeo will feature top rodeo athletes from across the United States matched against some of the toughest bulls and horses in the country from the Casper Baca Rodeo Company, live and unrehearsed.

Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for children 6 to 12 years old and adults 62 years and over. Children five years old and younger get in free of charge.

Events this year include several timed events, including breakaway, calf roping, team roping, steer wrestling and barrel racing. Several rough stock events will be held, including open bull riding, saddle bronc, bareback and ranch bronc events.

Kids events will be held during intermission, including stick horse races for 1-2 year olds, 3-4 year olds and 5-6 year olds. Calf scrambles will be held for children 7-9 years old, and 10-12 years old.
