TorC Schools Superintendent Tom Burris introduced Daniel Terrazas as the new Hot Springs varsity football head coach during Thursday’s, May 10, Board of Education meeting.

Terrazas was named Tiger football head coach following an interview earlier in the day before a selection committee led by Athletic Director Craig Cummins.

An English teacher at HSHS, Terrazas succeeds legendary Tiger football head coach Travis Lee, who resigned last spring to take on an assistant coaching position at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales.

During an impromptu speech following the superintendent’s announcement, Terrazas said, “I would like to thank the selection committee for giving me the opportunity, something that I’ve wanted since I was 15 years old.”
