First Responders were dispatched early Friday evening, Aug. 31, to a single-vehicle crash that occurred along Interstate 25 near Milepost 71 – the Las Palomas exit – in the northbound lanes.
A United States Border patrol agent on scene relayed to officials responding that it was a non-injury crash caused when a vehicle experienced a blown out tire.
The Border Patrol agent reportedly had the driver in custody.
The blowout apparently was caused due to the vehicle’s tires being packed with methamphetamine and marijuana.
Due to the extended holiday weekend, further information was not immediately available.
