The Friends of the Pool, a newly formed group, which endeavors to help support and raise funds for Truth or Consequences City Swimming Pool, is holding their first beautification project. They are calling for artists, donations, and supplies to help pull this project off.
The concept is to line the outside of the pool’s fences with local artwork to help beautify the area as well as limit visibility, block wind and debris, and help secure the facility against intrusion. The deadline for sketch submissions is Dec. 1, with a grace period for those artists who have a difficult time with a hard deadline.
The group hopes to have all panels and artwork ready for installation by March 1.
If you are interested in donating, submitting a sketch, joining Friends of the Pool, or helping with this project or another project in any way, please feel free to contact a member listed on the flyer. You can also get more information by calling the swimming pool at (575) 894-6151 and speaking with Destiny Mitchell.
More information is available at the swimming pool, or on Facebook as to parameters, themes, and costs. Thank you in advance for supporting this project.
We already have lots of community support and several (famous or infamous?) artists lined up with sketches ready. Please help support one of our largest recreational quality of life projects in Sierra County. And though it may be cold outside, the temperature at the pool is well above 80 degrees both air and water, with money being no excuse as it is only $3 to get in, and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month are free 1-4 p.m.
Your support is appreciated, Sierra County!
